The Cheapest is Not Necessarily the Best!
When buying a second hand car, there are many factors to consider. Naturally one of the prime considerations has to be budget so whilst our heart screams luxury, we tend to opt for the cheaper used car market . That is not always a bad thing though, as even within the budget range of used cars, there are some bargains to be had. All it takes is a little patience and research.
One of the most important factors if you are counting the pennies though, has to be petrol consumption. There is no point in buying the cheapest car available if you are going to have to shell out a fortune on petrol, so make sure that you do your homework on this front and if possible try to get some accurate figures from the seller.
Another consideration must be the cost of insurance. Many cars seem like a bargain, only for the new owner to find that the cost of insuring it is prohibitive. Cheapest is not necessarily always the best as it can end up costing you more in the long run.
If you do not have good knowledge of what is under the bonnet, make sure that a friend who does takes a good look at your intended purchase. The cheaper cars are often not covered by warranty and you do not want any nasty surprises afterwards.
